Hi everybody,
Many moons ago when I joined this fraternity, my mind was set on making a hard top removable roof.
I settled on making the latch catches and I again thank everybody for encouraging me by purchasing them.
Anyway, my mind never stopped "exploring" the subject and today I received this from Bonhams.
As you know, a car guy likes ALL types of cars, antiques, drag, hot rods....but even though I have an open mind, even though I'M somewhat literate on
many makes, even though I am open to all sorts of ideas, shapes, motricity, I must admit that it is quite impossible for me to find something that I like with this car.....really for me the most unpleasant spectacle my poor eyes have seen.

Some convertibles look best with their tops up, others with their tops lowered. Some even look best half open, targa style.

I'm afraid this one would look its best with all of its sheet metal aft and forward of the doors excised.

what an ugly little toad!

i have never really acquired a taste for any of the talbot inspired styling. although i have become a recent fan of retractable hardtops, my slk230 folds nicely into the trunk instead of perching atop it on the outside of the car. man is that unattractive!

the pinball machine-like electro-hydraulic top controls take up a bunch of real estate under the hood as well as the hydraulic motor and chain drive stashed into the left rear fender. the flat head v8 with 2 su carbs is another strike. the interior looks like it was transplanted from an amish buggy.

but, the car probably did set a mark - of how not to build a retractable roof.

even though the car is badged as a daimler it has many hallmarks that indicate it was designed by an englishman and built in the empty lot between the buggy works and the blacksmith's shop. i'd bet a dollar to a donut that it handles poorly, too.

honestly even if i was ultra rich with an extensive collection of vintage automobiles i'd avoid this monstrosity altogether.

Hard-top will make swift into the fake coupe... I don't want swift sedan and I want swift fastback/coupe so what's matter?

Oh by the way jeep is the last survive stand in the market right now... ;p I also believe in 4x4 should come with hard top... why? it's damn off road SUV!
