cs 130 made all the difference in my metro-lots of lights and car audio. before even with a 55 amp alt from a turbo car the lights would dim with the stereo, and at idle in gear with everything on the stereo would turn off/cut out at high volumes.
now with the bigger alt on the car I can have everything on at idle, and when the bass hits it still stays above 14 volts, and doesn't cut out.
sony deck, 6 infinity speakers, 2-12 inch subs w/1400 watt amp 8)
and make sure you have a decent battery. mine is a yellow top optima.
....and I listen to any type of music, except for "new country"..... =)

Well they say timing is everything. Friday last weekend of a log stay-cation low a cash I was attacked by the car gremlins. Has to replace the battery and alternator :thwack: Just didn't have the time to get it all together before going back to work. Will have to look at it this summer after I replace the A/C. Will be watching Craigslist for an alternator! On a good note, I'm am slowly working on building a pair of speaker pods for my door for a pair of those 5x7's. I've never worked with fiberglass but what the heck. Here are some pics

Picked up a Sony home theater sub at a local thrift store for $10. Stripped down the box, and look a pair of 6.5 4 ohm speaker in a vented box. Thinking about building a box to fit under the top pouch. Dug out a pair of passive sub crossovers and will try adding them in my front speak array. Those 6.5 in pods just do have much low end. Have covered both 5x7 pods and will see if I can learn to fiberglass. My $35 amp gave up the ghost, planning to see about having it repaired :( . Subs must be shielded which explains the weird dual magnet design.

An 8" Bazooka sub fits under the top, just. I bought the 6" one. Works great in my beater 'vert. Bottom end is tight with the top down and the covers in place. A little more "loose" with the top up but you can notch out those frequencies.

are you using the fish to apply the resin? =)

subwoofers don't really need electromagnetic shielding. back in the day when a/v subs were used around crt type televisions, yeah, the subs were shielded so that their magnetic fields wouldn't distort the picture on your 36" tube tv. :-P

a modern lcd flat screen wouldn't be bothered much by a magnetic field from a subwoofer.
