I just struck me that I never followed up on the build...
We wrapped it up in the late summer 2011. There'd been a couple small mechancial hiccups that should be expected with any 20 year old car... timing and a caved fuel pump, but otherwise a nice grocery getter!
Now that its finished and ready for her to drive she's playing the "I don't feel safe because it doesn't have airbags' card. I told her I respect her descision and would be happy to drop her off at the bus stop in a new little vert it looks like I'll be driving from now on

. Curiously, now she seemed to be ok with driving it
I don't think I'd do another one... too much work... but it was nice to rescue one from the wreckers.
To wrap up it started with this rust bucket... don't get me started on this POS
;

To the newspaper vert (black, white and re(a)d all over

Then swapping in goodies to the almost nil rust, low mileage parts car from tooswift;

and ended up here about 3 yrs and more that a few skinned knuckles and beer later...

There's a few things I think I'd still like to do... projector headlights, a proper sound system, red suede seats from and Acura Intregra Type R, a car starter... the list is long and I try not to think about it too much
However the base is solid, and it's suprising how many looks it gets... which makes the wife happy as she's likes all that vain stuff

that and the personal plate with her pet name on it

It'll be a keeper now.
