I was fitting the a oil pump and timing gear from a g13bb onto g13a in a suzuki samurai (megasquirt project). Almost everything seems to fit, but newer stuff seems use a round tooth timing belt, and the g13a use square. Does anyone know if a cam pulley from a g13ba or G13bb might fit? Thanks!

you can source a pair of adjustable aluminum cam gears for a twincam from ebay for around $100us and use one on the g13a, g13ba, and g13bb.

i have even used them on my g10t builds by swapping the crank gear and timing belt pulley to ones from a twincam even though i had to sort out the water pump and alternator brackets and pulleys.

with proper matching you can pretty much use parts from any g family engine on every other g family engine.

I was just looking at the adjustable cam pulleys. It looks like they use a keyway for alignment. The Samurai g13a uses an alignment dowel. I don't think those pulleys will work :(

The crankshaft uses a keyway, the camshaft uses a dowel.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Adjustable ... ol&vxp=mtr

the slots you see at the center of these engage the dowel pin. one slot is for the "e" fit and the other is for the "i" fitment on a twincam engine.

i have used these on the last 2 turbo3 engines i built and they absolutely do fit and work just fine. they will work on any "g" family engine as long as the other parts fit the rounded tooth timing belt.
