Do you know anything about the ignitor/knock control box on an 87-88 turbo Firefly/Sprint/Forsa?
Mine looks like it's dead, and new ones are unavailable. I'm wondering if one could be built.
Thanks,

use the search term "knocksense" and see what boris makes. i run one of those with my megasquirt.
it gives you an indicator light and an analog output. if all you need is a 5v signal to an ecu processor port, you could use one of these. i adapted the bosch knock sensor to my block by fabricating an 8mm x 1.25 stud center bored and tapped for a 6mm x 1.00 bolt. then i used that to mount the sensor at the factory location, high on the block between cylinders 2 and 3.
the filter frequency was designed for volvo "brick" cars but it works great on the 3 banger suzuki. there's only one trim pot on the knocksense that's for adjusting the level. the indicator light and your ears would be all you need to adjust the level. i like the indicator light, it's quite possibly the brightest led i have ever owned. seriously, it lights up the cabin with green to the point where you'd swear the aliens were coming for you.
get the sensor with the cable and plug and the teflon extension cable. the sensor that has the plug molded right on the body is impossible to reach with the engine in place, the sensor with the plug attached by a cable allows you to bring the plug out of the wiring harness out from under the intake manifold where it's easier to attach the extension cable. i think that boris' web page shows 2 versions. you'll need the one that has the analog output.
