They are a perfect fit. I will post pics soon. In the mean time see the pics of the braces. The GTi will soon be carving corners better than the SVT Focus.


The kit is from Suzuki. It is a "Genuine Accessory". The application is for the 2007 SX-4. It comes with a "dead pedal". It has stick on templates for the pedals so that you can drill the holes.

MUST USE PUNCH if not the drill bit will "drift" :cry:

COST: $126.00 list, paid $106.00 Spendy but they are billet aluminum and they have "Suzuki" laser engraved in them.

I like the pedals... I'm going to call up the dealer and see what they'll want for em in canadian, with the saskatchewan service fee applied.

How are you going to get the CRX seats into that car?

Looking for another track for the drivers side. Donor from the GA is bent. :( :x CRX seats are about same size with smaller tracks.

Let me know how it goes. I was in a accident at a former place of employee, left my well... left arm/shoulder pretty badly messed up, lifetime sort of injury, and I love my car but I can't take more than 15 minutes in it with the stock drivers seat so badly pounded out. Mind you I don't think Suzuki was thinking of 300+lb guys when they made the car. :lol:

So to sum it up, I really need to get them changed, can't handle being in some nasty pain for days just because I drove for a few hours. :(

Well, I went to my next door neighbors place (the one with the silly Prius) and was talking to him about getting rid of his "vert and he said that he had a "spare parts car" that he would "give" me instead of the runner. I took a look at it and I have to say it's MINE! He and I have traded over the years between 5.0 mustangs and he said I could have it for the parts he has gotten fom me throughout the years. I will be posting pics soon and will need some help as I have a wish list of things to do.

This one will be done on the cheap though until the bills get caught up.

I know this post is old but coming back from Milton-Freewater, Oregon last weekend, I saw another GT! It appears to be either a 93 or 94 (determined by the tailights if stock). I stopped in and tried to see if the owner was home but to no avail. Will try to see if they are willing to part company with it. WOW, that would be two hatches and one 'vert. 8)

I just got a 2000 Suzuki Swift. Found on craigslist.

The good:
1. It's a suzuki! :lol:
2. Amazingly clean inside and out.
3. All there, no hillbilly add-ons.
4. 147,000 miles

The bad:
1. She spits out fifth like its liver and onions. :lol: I try to shift into fifth and as soon as the clutch starts to engage it throws it out really hard. The tranny through the gears shifts fine and the clutch is tight but I can't figure this one out.

Question: Do I need to get another tranny or is this a common problem that has a simple solution. I'm not afraid to replace the tranny as I find it rather easy to do in the driveway.

Help!

PS: Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I picked up an automatic tranny 1989 GTi as well a couple of weeks ago. That one is a spitting image of my 5 spd '89. This one however is being reserved for Phil so that his wife will finally get her wish. :lol:

pull the tin cover off the end of the transmission. there's a yoke that holds the ends of the shafts in place. make sure that all the bolts are tight and that the yoke hasn't split.

if the ends of the shafts move away from each other the tranny won't hold 5th gear.

it's worth a shot before you condemn the transmission. :wink:

But keep in mind, if the gears look like the pictures above, the broken teeth can circulate through the case and case havoc with your ring and pinion

If not, you can just swap in a new set of 5th gears.

CONDEMNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It appears that the synchro's out. There was alot of metal in the oil and the teeth on the gears look nasty. Fortunately, there just happened to be another tranny in my stash of parts. :lol:

PS: Productive weekend. Picked a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick for $450 running. Guy had it advertised in Yakima, WA on CL for $750 firm. Will post pics soon after I take pics for Phil.

:D Answered a CL ad for a 95 MkIV that started like this..."95 Geo Metro. Engine rebuilt 3 weeks ago at a local shop, I got it home and it won't start. New gaskets, radiator, starter and hoses. I can't get it to run." I saw this and immediately called. I was the first person to call as the ad had been up for 15 minutes! I went over to look at it and this is what I found.

I popped the hood and found this:

The PO, a 22 year old kid, told me that he had attempted to time it after put the head back on and he encountered a problem that "bent a valve". He then removed the head and had another valve put in by the shop that rebuilt it. After that, he attempted to time again, to no avail. He literally gave up. It's a 3 owner car that grandpa sold to grandson who in turn sold it to best friend. Best friend paid $1500 and put $800 in a rebuild.into it. He gave it to me for $350! Ha! I love it. It's got 140,625 original with a rebuilt engine and after getting it home, had it running (purring) within the hour.

And another Suzuki to the stables. Found this hidden in a garage with a storied past. The details are kinda "R" rated. Yes its an '06 Katana 600 with 380 miles!

It's a 3 owner car that grandpa sold to grandson who in turn sold it to best friend. Best friend paid $1500 and put $800 in a rebuild.into it. He gave it to me for $350! Ha! I love it. It's got 140,625 original with a rebuilt engine and after getting it home, had it running (purring) within the hour.


UPDATE: I HAVE A KNOCK!!!!!!!!!!!! How hard is it to replace the crank and main bearings on these? Do I really need to pull the motor AGAIN!?

check the snout on the crankshaft, the timing belt drive gear, key, and keyway. when they get loose, it can sound a lot like a rod knocking.
