Well me and my roommate got to work on the audio system in the Metro tonight. We are planning on installing the following setup:

Kove Audio 4" speakers in the front dash

(Considering pairing Kove 4x6s in the doors with these, running the same channel)

Polk DB401 4" speakers in the rear hatch

No-Name tweeters with a Boston crossover for the doors

Nakamichi 6x9s for the side panels, splitting the rear channels with the Polks

Kove 12" Sub

I have a 300w 2ch Amp, however i'm still unsure about how i'm going to use it. I might use it to power the front stage, the rear stage, or just use it in my Miata to power my Hertz 6.5inch components.

Here are the pics of where we are at right now, about to make a run to Wally-World for Redbulls and a flashlight. We have the 4" Koves in the dash. The sound is AMAZING compared to the Polks that were in it. *NOTE* The Polk DB401s were $80 new when I bought them and are a HIGHLY rated speaker...just not compared to the Koves, LOL!

Have the drivers-side panel cut out and ready for the speaker. Still have to do the wooden panel to actually mount the speaker too. This all has to also be done on the passenger side still. Special thanks to my buddy who is the dremel-master, lol. The wiring is already done and ready for the speakers.

I've decided to go ahead and amp them (the 6x9s and the rear 4" Speakers).

Me and Blake finally got around to working on cutting the wood for mounting the 6x9s.

Still need to get a few tapered screws, however it's coming along nicely!

Good on ya there....I'd never fathom the thought of cutting my inner upholstery, much less the plastic panels, just to fit speakers. Sadly though, when I bought my GT, the previous douchebag owner cut the front door upholstery to put in some random pos 6.5" speaker, and the idiot didn't even put it in the proper location. Suffice to say that I cut a second set of holes (proper location this time) and did my own little fix.

The important question is: how do they sound?

Too early to tell! lol, we're not finished yet. I plan on amping the 6x9s off of a 300w x2 Amp. Hoping that it gives it some decent low end, without needing a Sub right away. Still putting a sub in it however.

One side is finished!





We hooked it up to just the headunit and we are AMAZED at how much better just the one 6x9 improves the low end. I'm stoked to get the other side finished, and THEN amp both 6x9s!

Should sound amazing!

Finished the other side of the car. Have to chase down a few wiring gremlins, but overall I love how it turned out.
