I have a 1991 metro conv with the 1.0 and just acquired a new header last weekend.
Wondering if any benefit to installing on vehicle
I know the egr port would be blocked and also could not use the factory converter
would this be a problem ?

If you have EGR, blocking the exhaust port may throw a code. My 91 hatch does not have EGR. Blocking the exhaust port, with my header, is a non issue.

Header benefits, on a G10, is debatable. The stock exhaust manifold is pretty much a header design to begin with. Nice aftermarket converters are available from Summit, Jeggs, etc.

You can't really take advantage of items such as headers if you can't change the mapping in the ECM. It is also very unlikely that your aftermarket header is a better design than the OEM one.
Now I take all that back if you have a carburetor because in that case you are the ECM and you can to crazy things to make the engine match your exhaust system.
