Had this for about a decade. It sat for about 6 years due to really worn out suspension and bushings. I was planning to SCCA this car so I put in all new whiteline bushings, whiteline caster bushing, new springs, shocks, upgraded to CRX brakes, aluminum radiator, front axles, timing belt, timing cover (top and bottom), CA catalytic converter, exhaust header, and some misc items. Passed CA smog! I spent about $2k to get her running and driving well. I would love to SCCA this little pocket rocket, but I simply have no time and too many projects. Car is located in San Diego, CA. I'll take photos and upload today.

How many miles?
Compression checked? Oil burnage?

I live In san diego and have 4 of these cars, none of them DOHC..... man i wonder just how much faster this is..

We have 3 GT's and 1 GA.
The difference is significant and if you sell two of your GA's and buy that one GT you will be very happy and never drive a GA again.

However, the down side is all the speeding tickets. But it's your call.

That car is begging you to take a test drive/ride.
Check the right rear hatch and make sure it is air tight when closed.

Pros:
-GT
-good interior
-passed smog (find out when; it will have to pass again if not within last 90 days)
-reasonably priced
-no cracks on windshield

Cons:
-no A/C (can be added but requires extensive work and hard to find GTi wiring)
-light switch (hard to find, expensive)
-steering wheel ($100 gets the job done)
-will require a complete body spray paint

Copy down the VIN or License Plate and we can look at its Smog Check History for more detailed information. (ie, when it was brought into the State, etc.)

I have not done compression check. I can do that today or this weekend. It does not burn oil. Based on the CarFax it probably has 222k miles.

If this was a MK3 I'd be hauling the trailer down right now.

GLWS though, great price for the car IMHO.

It's not really the speed.
These SSGTI are not as fast as you think
BUT..... that sound when you wind it up around 4G and that slight neck whip.
Well It's something few car guy's get to experience
and afterwards it will take a lot more "Money car" to make that feeling go away.!
Also cornering and braking in these light nimble cars it really is Gokart-est

Cheep thrills reliability and fairly good mileage for around 2 grand...

There are significant differences between mK2 and mk3 cars--some people like the "refresh" of the styling, some don't, but the later cars are significantly heavier due to extra seatbelt tensioners, dash and steering wheel padding, and structural reinforcements welded into the unibody. I can tell you which one I'd rather start with on a competition build vs. which one I'd rather be in in an accident. The later ECUs make up for the extra baggage by making a couple more hp out of an identical engine (other than the camshafts which obviously make pretty much no difference...).

I am interested in knowing the part#s for the bushings and shocks you replaced.I have a '91 and am hoping you can take a moment and tell me how the job was....and again share part numbers .
