Hi.
I have mk1 gti engine in Suzuki Sj410 (Samurais predecessor).
Had problems with bad idle and seems like the cause was badly grinded camshafts(made in Sweden

).
That lead me measuring stock cams and results raised a question:
Are mk1 and mk2 cams and timing identical?
According to Catcams.com
http://www.catcams.com/products/camshaf ... UP_id=1421Intake valve should be open 0.5mm @tdc and exhaust 0.7@tdc.
My measurements show that my cam timing is late, intake -8degrees and exhaust -6degrees, with new belt and crankshaft key is ok.
Has anyone else measured stock cams, timing and is there any other explanation than manufacturing tolerances?
And top of this, i just noticed that catcams.co.uk has different specs for stock timing and cams...
http://www.catcams.co.uk/acatalog/Suzuk ... L_16v.htmlI was planning to advance both cams ~4degrees but the question is where is the starting point
