I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the roller rocker arms that cam on the 95-97 swift 1.3. Does that engine have any more low end power, I'm assuming the rollers let the valve open a little quicker? Also, how does the low end compare to g13bb (98-01)

In a nutshell the 98-01 g13bb is better in nearly every way. More power everywhere, same or better fuel mileage etc. there's nothing wrong with the 95-97 1.3's, just the later one works better overall. Weak points of the 98-01 are valve stem seals on exhaust valves which cause a puff of blue smoke on startup, although don't normally use any significant amount of oil due to this. Weak point of 95-97 1.3's are the piston skirts crack and break sometimes, done a lot of them over the years.

Thanks, the thought had crossed my mind that the roller cam might have advantage with at the low end because of the rollers.

In theory there is the advantage of less friction. In practice, the roller setup is probably the least functional of all the cam/rocker/lifter setups on the G series engines. It would be a better setup if Suzuki used a cam that took advantage of the roller's abilities, but they didn't.

One of the self proclaimed experts on GMF swapped his earlier rocker arms with the roller rocker arms and couldn't understand why he couldn't get it to run right. He's fortunate that he didn't destroy his motor.

No. If you want a perf. cam for that motor, get a set of early rockers, and a matching cam. That one can be ground. I used to sell a conversion kit, but the cams are too hard to find anymore

Thanks for the info. I'm just toying with idea of rollers on a samurai G13a. Not for higher end power. As i understand it the rollers would allow the valve to open a little faster for better low end without sacrificing high end. But my understanding of cams is very limited. And while i think the rollers bolt onto the g13a, i don't know if i could even get an appropriate cam that would work in the Sammi motor.
