I have wanted to install an oil temp gauge for some time now. I have made an adapter to replace the oil drain plug. The oil temp sender now screws into the adapter and replaces the oil pan drain plug. Temp gauge was installed to the left of the steering column in the panel that holds the dimmer switch on a 97 Geo metro. Around town driving the oil temp runs about the same as water temp. 50 mile test drive: 70 mph, cruise on, A/C on, oil temp is 200 to 205 degrees F. 100 mph oil temp climbs to 220 degrees F. With out any type of oil cooler it takes awhile for the temp to come back down. Oil seeping from the sending unit after the road test. To late to mess with it tonight.
