Not so much on the G10 or these G1.3 ......but the G1.3b (GT/GTi motor) was a bitch
it seemed they put the coolent sensor in the worst spot right next to the thermostate
My SSGT just hated it I was half tempted to drill a tiny vent hole in that thermostate
till it warmed up the idle would hunt ...up/down....up/down...
I do like the trick disconect the TB heater hose ...Very smart.! I'll have to remeber that

Yeah, I think I must have poured in close to another cup of antifreeze to top the radiator off.

2013 was a bad year for me in many ways.
Mrs G-Whiz didn't like driving the car... she chose to stay with her Toyota, and after wiping out his Suzuki Esteem in May or June of that year, I turned Shrek over to my 91 year old dad.
It only took a month or so before I finally had to convince him it was time to hang up the keys to his truck.

Damn...
It was a love-hate relationship between Shrek and me if ever there was one.

I realy simpathize with you..... My 96 was a bitch but after I got it running right it was a very confy car with
enough power to get me from A to B plus Power steering on a 4cyl front wheel drive car Why.!
but in the end I didnot want to be driving a 5th gen Geo when Jesus came back
so out the door it went

Yeah, Mrs. G did admit Kermit was more comfortable than Copper Top, but still, she didn't feel... comfortable... driving it. Just didn't feel as safe in it. Besides, she wanted something with power options and ended up replacing the Corolla with a Camry.

Getting Dad to understand it was time to hang up the keys was an adventure in and of its self.
