Are there any "easy" motor swaps that will fit in a 1999 Chevy metro? i would like to get more power and hp. I have been searching on here and other sites but I'm kinda new to the metro scene and i dont understand what g13 and g10s are. any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

G is the engine family within Suzuki, 10 is for one liter 13 is for 1.3 liter. G10 is the one liter three cylinder and G13 is the 1.3 liter four cylinder. There's also a G16 1.6 liter, but they're rare, more of a Canada thing. The "easy" swap would be to put a G13BB out of a 98-01 Metro/Swift in there. Requires that the mounts, axles, wiring harness, computer, and shift linkage be swapped at the same time. Best to have a complete donor car.

Will this increase the horsepower? If so by about how much do you think?

G10 XFI 49hp
G10 55hp
G10 turbo 72hp (but a lot more torque)
G13 8 valve 72hp
G13BB SOHC 16V 79hp
G13B DOHC 16V 100hp

Those are factory numbers, most engines are well down from that by now. So, if your current G10 is sad and you put in a well rebuilt G13BB, you could be doubling the horsepower. But if your current engine is in good condition and you put in a sad junkyard four cylinder, you might end up with the exact same performance after that massive amount of work.

Keep in mind that an engine swap is a MASSIVE amount of work. Doing a mild performance rebuild on the engine you have would get you to 60hp without much trouble, be more reliable, and have no legality or emissions issues.

I honestly thought about buying a bunch of performance parts from 3tech and rebuilding the engine and trans but it won't be cheap. I know these cars have a lot of modifications that can be done but they are expensive which I found surprising
