As for fuel and timing, Car is getting 37.5 mpg at 70 mph with the A/C on and using the cruise control. Timing seems to be good enough. No valve rattle under acceleration, no backfire up through intake system from idle when accelerating. Redline is jut below 7,000 rpm. I am still playing with the tuning software on my laptop using the ODB2 connector to talk to the cars PCM. The learning curve on the software is where my time is going. Since January I have not had a lot of extra time. Shop has been really busy and I am still behind in getting it all done. The summer heat was killer this year with plus 100 degree days. I also lost time with getting my younger son shipped off for his 5th deployment to Kawatt. My newest project has been finding and getting an Ultrasonic cleaning tank big enough to hold heads, blocks, and transmission cases. I found what I needed but it was not cheap. Simple green did not get all of the varnish off the heads and blocks. I went with the cleaning chemicals that the tank manufacturer offers. And they do a great job at cleaning the aluminum. This will take all of the hand scrubbing out of cleaning the parts. It is saving me about 3 to 4 hours on cleaning before rebuilding. Once I have the numbers on fuel and timing I will pot the results.
