I did the swap and still run an auto ecu. You are correct that you just need to tap into the park/neutral switch, hook up your clutch safety switch and back up light switch here. One little thing you'll notice is that the idle will bump up when you put it in reverse, this is because the auto ecu will think its in gear and ad a touch of idle speed to it. There will def be a bit of wiring to sort out, the harness front to rear is quite a bit different for the 98+ cars with that engine. I switched dash harness at the same time, only reused the rear harness, since I had a donor car it seemed simpler.
