Purchased in January of 2017, this is one of the more helpful products recently acquired.

This item is easily found for $18 here:

It looks like this:

Years ago on Teamswift, I read a review from one of our helpful Moderators about his new LED wand light and was highly interested.
One of his comments was something to the effect that it would last for an hour or two and that was plenty long enough for him.

This item uses lithium ion battery technology, with constant current, and then constant voltage charging modes.
You are not supposed to use it when it is charging, and it takes sometimes 3 or 4 hours to charge, depending on how long you have used it.
These lithium ion batteries are programmed to last a long, long time.
In my case, I can plug it in to my solar panels during the day, and it is fully charged by the next time I need it.
Others report a 4 hour run time, and I haven't had to use it that long, but take their word for it.
Not only will the LED's light for 4 hours, but the batteries should last for quite a few years.
It isn't as convenient as a wand light, but I like the Lithium Ion technology over the Nickel Metal Hydride, and of course, the Nickel Cadmium technologies.
The trade off - it is cheaper than a wand light, at least at this time.

You can use it for camping, etc when you are not working on a car, and mine came with a 12v cigarette lighter adapter and a 110 volt charger.

The bad: It might take a few minutes to get it set up to shine where you need it (awkward shape).
Also, after using a tube/wand shaped light for so many years, it might be hard to switch to this style light.

If there is a reasonably priced tube version, feel free to let us know!

Overall, I give it 5/5 stars.
