I went to the junkyard to look for a Dodge Neon arm rest (1st gen) and had no luck. So I decided to go with something else. Here is the Dodge Neon arm rest. This one was the wrong color. I ended up going with a 5th Gen Honda Civic arm rest. '92-'95 EG 4-door Civics have an arm rest that is essentially a bolt in for our Metros.

1. Remove the rear screws on the center console.

2. Remove the screws on the front by the radio too.

3. These are behind the shifter, you have to move the front portion of the console to get to them.

4. Then you can tilt the console up and remove it.

5. I trimmed the front too much, it barely needs to go to the panel where the screws are. Keep that in mind.

6. The back needs to be trimmed up to the ash tray.

7. Test fit it and trim more if you need to.

8. The screw holes lined up for me, you may need to drill a hole under the original hole to allow the screw to match up to the hole on the car.

9. I trimmed the front too much, but it's not the worst I've ever seen.

10. You're done. Here's how it looks.

Looks stock to me personally. And it's pretty perfect for the car overall. It's not the largest arm rest, but it gets the job done. I think this arm rest is better than the Dodge Neon for this year of Metro. If we could keep the cup holders of the Neon console, then it would be much better.
