jack up vehicle place on jack stands remove wheel use a jack to lift / compress the suspension remove the 2 upper shock mount nuts removing the shock completely is not necessary, the job CAN be done without removing them from the lower control arm. (IF YOUR CAR IS EQUIPT WITH A SWAY BAR) disconnect sway bar from lower control arm by removing 12mm nut from the bottom side of the control arm SLOWLY lower the jack letting the spring expand and the shock fall loose. move the jack out of the way and (the way i did it) standing next to the car i step on the drum and push down hard, as if i were trying to stand on it and to keep my balance i grab hold of the fender. i have found that the bottom comes loose first and the top may be stuck on the rubber spacer and may need a hit with a dead blow to break it free
Remove old spring incert new one (making sure to position correctly) jack up lower control arm slowly making sure the upper shock bolts align with the bolt holes reinstall upper shock nuts (torque to spec) lower jack and pull out of the way reinstall wheel lower car off of jack stands and enjoy
I hope this helps someone out there Sprockit
