Vehicle is $200. New CVs, timing belt, water pump, lots of work done. And a 5apd!
Worth it to strip it down and fix up, or better doing a swap? From what I understand there is no easy swap to the 1.6/1.8 from a 3cyl starting point. eBay has full rebuild kits for $250.
Well maintained Firefly for $450 said and done. Seems good to me?
Just curious on the general consensus. I'm no Ff virgin, had a 91 and lived that thing. Rebuilt the g10a in an afternoon.
Am I biting off more than I can chew rebuilding a g10a? Does the price of a rebuild make sense compared to a swap or buying a running model?
I like this because I'll know it's good to go!
Also parts. eBay rebuild kit? Better alternatives? Any way to squeeze some more power while I'm in there on a budget? Seems all the performance cylinders and whatnot are for the 4bangers only.
My Jeep gets 12mpg and I commute a lot.
Also great to see this forum still kicking!
