With my T3 purchase, I've now got 2 cars that I could get CCI for. The biggest problem is that the "book" High Retail is only $2200 and CCI companies require either a $3000 or $5000 minimum valuation. I think a T3 would be capable of bringing at least $3k if the condition was there.
Has anyone gotten CCI for a Turbo Sprint?
Problems I've found:
1) They have to be in a locked garage. If the land lord has access to a rented garage, you have to get his insurance information too.
2) Daily Driver has to be no older than 20 years (J.C. Taylor)
3) $5000 minimum collision required (Infinity) so a $2200 Kelly Blue Book 87 T3 is not insurable - unless I can get it appraised. Some companies have a $3000 limit.
4) Mileage restrictions are actually loosening up, some allow up to 7500 a year - of course lots of these policies are just as expensive as ordinary insurance.
5) Have to carry Collision - I NEVER buy collision, but this is how they make their money. It reveals how things are priced. Liability is something like $5 and collision is $95 for $6000 assigned value for one quote.
