Lack of side bolster support on the driver seat is the issue.....
I used the search feature and could find little.........
I surely remember long ago switching my 2 front seats around in my '89GTi with no issues I remember......just unbolt from the tracks and presto !
I tried that with '91 and '94 vintage cars and there are untapped holes in the bottom of the seats ,,,,,,,arghhhh !
Can seat backs be changed without stripping seat material back causing heartache??? I could live with the set bottom not being changed out, but the tubing in the side bolster is digging in......
I hope there is something simple I am overlooking.............
On another note.....the '94 I just bought for parts has GLASS headlight lenses.....how common is that ????

Are you asking if you can swap left seat to right seat? The seat pivot/seatbelt clasp and hinge arms are unique to each side.



My 90 GT and 91 Turbo both had 4 tapped holes on their seat bottoms. I also have a 89 seat installed in my current 2000 Metro, also with 4 tapped holes that are bolted to the seat tracks.



There is either Velcro or a zipper on the seat back that can be loosened allowing you access to the 2 bolts on the outer seat back arm. On the inner side where the seat belt clasp is, there is a large Phillips screw attaching the seat back to the pivot.

I'm not sure but I think the seat back and bottoms are the same from side to side. If you leave the back support/recline plates and tracks on the same sides, the upholstered back or bottom should bolt right up to either.

Again, I'm not 100% sure but if anyone knows different, speak up.
