I have been updating my RHD Cultus project thread for a few weeks now, but it seems that few have noticed it. (except maybe Google's search index bots).

So, to bring attention to my project in the MK2/3 1.0 & 1.3 SOHC Non-Turbo section, I thought we would play a game popularized in years past by the likes of JamalSpelling, JV&S, (Jaguars, Vettes & Sprints), and T3ragtop..

"What's in the box?"

Hint: It was supplied by a US member, and shipped from Japan for my project thread. The answer, (and rest of this week's project update) will be posted when there have been at least 2 guesses (responses).

It was a part which was damaged between the time my car left port in Japan and the day my car passed its provincial government safety inspection.

Beeeep! Nice guess jv&s.. but the part is much lighter than a drive shaft, which would have been available to buy locally.

The boxed item came from member bbowens, who is everyone's favorite rare Suzuki part seller! For those reading my RHD Cultus project thread, you may recall that I hired a local repair shop to install the North American spec. parts needed to pass provincial vehicle inspection.

When installing a center mounted stop light, the shop thought it would be okay to just cut hole(s) in an existing JDM trim panel part instead of requesting that I provide them with a North American part.

So unhappy about the bodge, I photoshopped a repair to the damaged trim panel part I was looking for (shown below) to bbowens and crossed my fingers that a new JDM part could still be had. (North American grey color part from a Metro shown at top, [digitally repaired] JDM part shown at bottom)


A few weeks later, this new part arrived:
