New non-North American Swift recall for later generation Swifts and other Suzuki built products: (Note, the Cruze referenced below is not the same car as the current Chevy Cruze)

According to the reports, a total of 2 million units will be affected by this new recall due to some ignition switch problem. Vehicles affected will include the Chevrolet Cruze, Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Wagon R, Suzuki Swift and also the a few other models all built in between 1998 until 2009. It is believed that some user’s ignition switch started smoking after they ignited the vehicle.
US models will not be affected by the recall. The recalled units were all from Japan, Europe and also Australia only. There were a total of 67 reports altogether, but so far, no accidents and no injuries
