I've been very busy with the car, with winter closing in I probably won't be ready for paint before it's too cold, but in the meantime I'm making sure to clean out any rust I can find, painted the underbody, dragged out the monster air compressor and made a sandblasting gun. Stripping any rust and paint off the smaller parts like rear subframe, control arms, pretty much anything that comes off. Had some linkages machined to make a set of adjustable rear toe bars. Once I weld some holes on the rear subframe it will be going back on the car along with other suspension components and new struts. Also hunting for a gti locally so I can grab me a set of rear disc brakes If I wasn't so lazy it could have been painted already, but I am lazy so... I still have to fix the front lip somehow since I can't afford a new one and figure out how to make a mount for the rear tow bar so it clears the rear lip on the bumper, but isn't low enough to drag on the ground and strong enough not to break to tow a motorcycle trailer. I plan on moving to the UK in the next year or so and I'm bringing my swift and my motorcycle with me

I am not sure yet as to how much work is needed, it is a while since I last looked at the car. It has been in storage for quite some time.
I know :
At the very least the sills may need attention.
It seems most of the suspension bushes could do with renewing
The carb/ ignition( yes it is 110% carb on this car, NOT tb injection like 99.9% of the people on here will tell you. Is yours injection? ) is not running right, idle all over the place.
The waterpump/cambelt is due renewal.
Not a problem as will be converting to injection / g13b gti head.

Mine's carb, like it should be thinking of doing an itb setup with megasquirt in the future.

There wouldn't be that much difference power wise between ITBS and carbs if set up correctly.... ( imo )

Maybe. Only one way to find out Carbs are rather cheap, so I might try that.

Just fyi , my car now runs pretty well. I have been working on it in the garage. I have found a source of information regarding our carb, it is so difficult as you probably know as its a rare, complicated carb.
If you need any help with the carb I can link to vacuum hose diagrams etc . The problem with my Swift is that the vacuum hose to the dizzy was swapped with another hose. So there was a vacuum leak and also the ignition timing was way off as the vacuum advance never saw any vacuum ! My friend had this car and used it almost every day with this problem for 5 years. Countless mechanics etc looked at it and said the carb needed replacing etc etc. Haha

I suggest you save this to your hdd ( most of it is a list of mitsubishi engines etc but nearer the bottom of the pdf there is a lot of info reg our carb. )

Ps i now have the genuine suzuki workshop manual for the sf416 fi/carb and 4wd models, so if you need anything, let me know.

It's been a while, but I'm rushing to finish it quick, as I'm moving and want to drive it away. It's still a bare chassis, but I'll be putting in all the bits back together and painting it next week hopefully. Should be done in 3 weeks, or rather must.

Sadly no spare parts here, I think I got the only one in the country. And yes I am bringing the swift with me, that's why I'm in such a rush to finish it

Hello everyone who might still be around, 2 years later and the car is still not done, but I've spent the last couple months working my ass off and it's nearly complete. I have a problem though, I took the car apart 5 years ago, half the vacuum hoses on the carb are missing and I have no idea what goes where, so in turn it runs like absolute shite. I've done some research, but could only find carb diagrams, but no vacuum diagram. If anyone could help out, I would greatly appreciate it.

It's not in the UK right now, but it will be going there soon, just sorting out some last bits like the carb. Keeping it for myself though. Also today after taking apart the carb and putting it back in I found out that the new spark plugs I bought are garbage and it only works on 2 cylinders, probably the reason it ran like shite.

Post pictures, i have a sedan myself but its 1.3 ans fwd.

The car is in the UK finally, still needs some work to be able to drive it though. Ordered new spark plugs and leads as the old one's are shot, rebuild kit for both front calipers, new front discs and pads, I replaced the rear drums recently, missing the front splitter and rear spoiler, but I have both of them, just need some paint. Other than that, clean up the rims and some interior bits before I put them back in and it'll be mint If I find parts, I might also convert it back to RHD in the future.
