I would like to change my username from SRD_Don to D25002011. I made a couple times a new username, but kept deleted by the admin

Thats probably why. Anything that looks remotely off or has an incomplete profile is axed.

basically with hundreds of spammers attempting to sign up every day & the fact that most of us have real lives, we don't spend a whole lot of time fine combing the applications to dig out legitimate users.
fill in your complete profile w/ legit information & don't bother trying to register from any AOL affiliated email accounts or .ru, .cc, or other such spam affiliated domains.

Filling in all the info on location should be mandatory, that way when new members post we can help direct some of their questions more local for them.
Some of us get tired of asking noobs to fill out the location.
And we appreciate all your personal time you put into this site, as well as the mods.

It is mandatory. If the location isn't filled they don't get approved. The more they fill out the better there chances are of getting approved quickly.

actually, no duplicate accounts, if you're caught making dupe accounts, we'll just delete them all.

with hundreds of spammers trying to sign on every day, I'm not wasting my time with BS accounts, & I'm not even going to look at stupid usernames like awerish or anything else taht looks like it was a mash of the keyboard.

less then 3% of the new accounts created are even possibly legitimate.

Actualy its been less than 3% lately

A message to people having trouble registering:
All AOL addresses are blocked due to spam reporting problems by stupid AOL users. If you register with an AOL address, you will NOT get a confirmation message. More info here:

Due to spammers defeating CAPTCHA with either smarter bots or bored, desperate people, we've disabled all automatic registrations. All new registrations are now individually screened for approval. If you don't fill in your profile beforehand to distinguish yourself from the massive volume of spam registrations, your new account will likely be deleted.

This is what a typical spammer account looks like:


Please take the time to fill in the fields. Location is manditory. Putting in some info about your car into the Interests field will help speed things up. If you account looks anything similar to the one above, it will get deleted. We get dozens of registrations just like the one above every single day.

We're also busy people. Account approvals may take some time.

Hi,

I have been trying to get on the site for over a month. I have filled out the info w/ name and password. I get an e-mail back stating name and pass word and a reminder that I will get an e-mail from an administrator notifying me of activation.

I never have received the activation notice, unless it comes from an unrecognizable address. A couple of dys later I will get an e-mail stating that my account has been canceled because of inactivity. I have tried to log on and am denied stating I have to register first.

I have tried sending an e-mail by replying to the letter notifying me of my name and password.

I have never received a reply.

Would it be possible for you to get a note to someone at the top giving them my e-mail.

I would appreciate any help. I just bought an '01 Swift and would like to keep posted as to what others are doing.

If he read the rules in this thread he would see that there is no AOL accounts approved on this site. If potential members took the time to read this thread bit first they would get approved much sooner.

i'm up against the same thing, many of the sites won't let me sign up because i have a hotmail address. but it's the only one i've ever had.

Well it wasn't always that way with AOL accounts but here's why it happened...

Hi Larry (and everyone)

My name is Peter, you don't know me but I believe that you are a participating members of the "teamswift" forum and I am having problems with the registration process.

Now comes the fun part, I have tried on 4 different occasions to register and to no avail.

I have sent messages to admin at teamswift dot net and recently started doing some sleuthing about and what I believe to be the admin's (kris/n1tr0) other email address (see below)

Please see the attached emails and pdf's. The emails are pretty straight forward.
The "Welcome" messages are warm and fuzzy, but do not hint that the approval may not come.
The "removed" messages are less than informative.

The pdf's are screen prints of the registration process.



Please go at this from an outsider's point of view, I have read and re-read the registration screens.


Of course I am over 13 in physical years. (my wife and children disagree after the purchase of the vert)

I completed all of the items marked with "*" and submitted my request.

The first time I registered, I thought I would receive an auto-confirmation of my registration and be away to the races (so to speak). Instead, the auto email I received was just an acknowledgement of my registration and I would have to wait for the administrator to confirm my account, which never arrived.

It is mid December and I am still waiting for permission to participate.


Back in October, after the first "auto-deletion", I poked around and found the "faq" "Login and Registration Issues".
I didn't see anything on the faq that would suggest why my application did not come to fruition. I kept poking around, even to see if the forum was still active.

Today I have just found and read the "TeamSwift" thread on "New Users - Account Activation notes".
(I used google's advanced search specifying the site: parameter to find this thread)

Larry, that is how I found your email address, the other address's may not be correct, but came from the membership list.

I do not have a "aol" email address, although I do use gmail, is this the problem ?
(I use gmail for the spam filtering and I can use my pop mail reader or I can read my mail at any internet cafe when I am travelling)

As I said below, is there something I am not doing ?

BTW, I just checked and my profile exists "pab404" but has not been approved ?

I would appreciate any and all assistance you could provide.

What an ordeal!!! The difficulty getting an account activated here makes it feel like such an exclusive club now that I'm in. Glad to be here!!

I just registered last month

The issue I had was that I got an email saying to wait for activation email, and then a day or so later got an email saying the account was deleted for lack of use.

I'm in now though.... (obviously)

lol, i had the same problem. After 2 unsuccessful attempts, i finally had to track down one of the mods via his cardomain page and post a comment letting him know not to delete mine.... lol
