using the existing wiring, then adding 2 extra relays to the circuit, changing it from switched negative to switched positive.
you can use 4 pole or 5 pole 40 amp relays. one for low beams, the other for high beams.
terminal 86 on relay connects to red hot wire on car headlight circuit. terminal 87 on relay connects to fused power (+) from battery, 20 amp inline fuse recommended. terminal 85 on relay connects to negative (-) switched power from car (either high or low lead, not both!) terminal 30 on relay connects to positive (+) on h4 socket (blue or red, in your case) run two leads off of this terminal, one lead for each head lamp. black lead on your h4 socket is now ground.
do the same for the other relay, but use the OTHER switched negative (-) lead from the car to terminal 85 then terminal 30 connects to positive (+) on the h4 socket (blue or red)
one relay is now positive (+) switched for low beams, the other relay is switched positive (+) for the high beams. use the factory power (red positive (+) constant) on both sides of the car, one factory lead going to one relay (terminal 86), the other factory lead to the other relay (terminal 86)- that way you don't lose ALL your headlights if it blows the factory fuse. on the h4 sockets, I am not sure which lead (blue or red) are for low or high beams. but the black will be ground. it will take some testing to ensure correct low/ high beam operations. there might be diagrams of the mod on teamswift somewhere.....
