Hi all. I have a mk3 swift gti with cultus headers, 2" press bent pipes, no cat or resonator, welded to the factory muffler. How restrictive is the factory muffler? Do you think it hurts my topend power? Whats the story on back pressure?

I love the factory muffler, but i have not seen any dyno sheets as a proven fact, on performance gain or loss. Needless to say the cultus muffler looks the same.

Havent done any dyno testing, but when I have my full 2" exhaust done, we have to use a cat here in Cali and I use those large stainless mufflers at the end with the removeable silencer, opens it up and sounds good, if you want it quiet I just stuff the silencer with stainless steel wool till i meet the required level.
