Hi guys,

I just order the Castor Kit #KCA302 for my Metro, happens to be the set of bushings on the right of that picture in the last post....In case that dude is still wondering.

Question though: I want to add sway bars to my car, especially a rear one... doable to a Metro that did not come with any??? Just had it on a rack trying to identify mounting points, but couldn't find any.

Mine is a conv. in case that makes a difference.

The easiest way to add the rear bar is to just drill the mounting holes in the spare tire tub and bolt the brackets in. The mounting holes in the control arms should be there already.

ok Castor Kit is #KCA302 but what about the pic on the left and also who did you order them from and how much?????

Only ordered Caster kit so far...$110.00 + $50 to ship to SF, Ca.

check out my original post with all the part#'s .. whiteline ships worldwide and is probably the cheapest place to get all the bushings from.

Got mine from Whiteline, recieved them a week after I ordered.

Installed them last week at school and think there great so far, but now I realy want to add sway bars.

Ride isn't harsh, can feel a few more vibrations over rough roads is all.

i got a set of superpro poly bushing for fron and rear control arm
in the instruction paper (rear control arm) they are telling we have to heat the busing to remove the rubber part of it...clean excess of rubber remaining and install the new bush in it

but if we do so there will be a sleeve of metal remaining in the control arm...do i need to remove the sleeve!?!?

i ask because all the busing(stock to stock ones) i ever change on cars...i was removing ALL stuff to let the control arm naked then pernetrate a new bushing in the hole(a kind of bushing whit metal over it)

Yes, after burning out the rubber bushing, there will be a metal sleeve left in the control arm eye. That has to go too, I cut mine with a cold chisel, it was a bitch. Maybe a hacksaw through the hole would cut it faster, but be careful not to tear up the bearing surface of the control arm.

Ok so who has a full kit for all bushings needed under the car incl sway bars????????

Jus Whitelines site is so confusing.
And a dealer for WL in Dublin says u have to buy the sway bars if u want new bushings....they dont sell separetly the sway bar bushings!!!!!

So can any1 shed sum info on this confusion?????????

The top is form Global Performance Parts in the USA, while the bottom prices are from Whiteline. This list includes every single bushing that needs to be replaced, as well as a motor mount. These do not include the offset front bushings, just normal (but poly) front bushes.

Hey both part numbers are the same??
And the whiteline ones are different on their site???

Certain part numbers are for complete front and rear sets, others are for seperate bushings.

Ok so the Front Swaybar on a mk3 gti is....24mm??
The Rear Swaybar on a mk3 gti is.............20mm??

Nobody has actually clarified this yet.

Can we get definite measurements on this sticky for all the (stock) Swaybars on all the GTi's please?

http://www.ssgti.net has two kits available, front and rear. Is it more cost efficient to order those?

I bought my set of superpro/whiteline bushings from pdm-racing out of Burnaby, BC (604 430 4512). They are a dealer for whiteline/superpro bushings. I had gotten a quote from globalperformance as well and found that pdm-racing was cheaper.

Here's a quote that they gave me a while back, prices may have changed slightly:

On the rears, each wheel there is one 'D' bushing, and one round bushings (cylinder shape) for the 'control arms'?

they are referred to as 'control RODs'... Where do I get bushings for these RODS?

Also, when I look on the whiteline site their part numbers don't correspond with the ones above - they are a different format..?
Edit: Ahh, I see, those are SuperPro part numbers.

Ok, I think I figured it out:

for the rear control ROD:

SPF1411K should go into the spindle.

The spindle? What is that item referred to in this PDF?

Because the only reference to 'spindle' I can find in there is the wheel spindle, and something makes me doubt that there is a bushing there.

The control "ROD" bushing as far as I could ever find is only available through suzuki and you have to order the whole control rod, you can't just get the bushing for it.

I found this out when I did my complete suspension change out.

Take a look at the pictures in my garage, I have pictures of all off the bushings that I installed for the whole car

Here's the part numbers that actually ordered from pdm-racing:

Last summer I went and installed urethane swaybar bushings and end links. Instead of going with Whiteline or SuperPro, I bought universal bushings from Energy Suspension. For any one in the Lower Mainland, I got these at Mopac. I don't have part numbers. I just took my old bushings down to the store and got the staff to match up new replacements. About $50 for everything.

Swaybar and endlink bushings, front and rear. Also new Grade 10 bolts to fix the old rusty swaybar bolts that broke off:


The front control arm brackets need to be notched to clear the new swaybar brackets. Stock on the left, notched on the right:
